Stuttgart Christmas Market
Stuttgarter Weihnachtsmarkt
25 November – 23 December 2026
Source: stuttgarter-weihnachtsmarkt.de · read 2 November
One of the old documented markets of the south-west. The organiser’s site publishes 25 November to 23 December 2026.
The season
Sunday to Thursday 11:00–21:00, Friday and Saturday 11:00–22:00. On opening day, 25 November, the stalls open at 17:00. The ceremony in the courtyard of the Altes Schloss is at 18:00.
What to notice
- The site says the market is first mentioned in 1692.
- Opening day is an evening, not a full day. Plan around 17:00.
What to eat and drink
Unless a sentence names its source, these are specialities associated with the city, not a confirmed menu for 2026. Stall lists change every season.
- Stuttgart’s market is known for Maultaschen and for a stronger, often fruit-based hot wine alongside Glühwein. The 2026 homepage we read does not publish a dish list.
Planning notes
- Do not arrive at noon on 25 November. The stalls are not open yet.
- The Schlossplatz is broad. It absorbs a crowd better than Rothenburg and worse than you will want on the last Saturday.
Getting there
Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof is a few minutes’ walk from Schlossplatz.
When to go
