The season

Daily hours were not in the city text we read. Two other events on the same page have their own dates: the artists’ market 28 November–19 December 2026, and Bürgerspital Winterzauber 13 November 2026–10 January 2027.

What to notice

• The city page places the market by the Marienkapelle.
• If you are here after 23 December, the main market’s published season is over. The Bürgerspital event is the one the city lists into January. Check it; it is not the same market.

What to eat and drink

Unless a sentence names its source, these are specialities associated with the city, not a confirmed menu for 2026. Stall lists change every season.

• Franconian wine, served hot as well as cold, is the local habit. The city date page does not name a producer.

Planning notes

• Würzburg is the sensible stop between Frankfurt and Nuremberg. Do not try to add Rothenburg the same evening unless you enjoy a tight connection.
• Read the hours on the city page before you commit to a late train.

Getting there

Würzburg Hauptbahnhof is about 15–20 minutes on foot from the Marktplatz, mostly downhill on the way in.

The first days of December, in the afternoon, when the Residenz garden is still something you can walk.
